How KUVEV verifies compatibility
Our rule is simple: a matching plug, enclosure or button layout is not enough. Every record shows where its facts came from and how strong the evidence is.
Confirmed OEM
The relationship or specification is stated by the original manufacturer or its current official documentation.
Documented
Supported by a credible manual or specialist source, but not yet confirmed in current OEM material.
Community verified
Repeated field reports support the claim; use as a lead, not as a purchase guarantee.
Unconfirmed
A similar label, connector or appearance exists, but we do not have enough evidence to recommend interchangeability.
Source order
- Original manufacturer documentation. Current product pages, manuals, datasheets and technical catalogs.
- Credible technical documentation. Archived manuals or specialist references when OEM material is unavailable.
- Field evidence. Community reports can help identify a lead, but do not become a purchase recommendation without stronger support.
What we deliberately do not do
We do not infer pinouts, voltages, firmware compatibility or replacement relationships from photographs alone. We do not publish wiring hacks. We do not call a part “universal” unless the supporting source actually establishes that scope.
